A good school library should give pupils the chance to learn and to develop their abilities so that they can achieve their potential. As we live in an increasingly digital world, it is our duty as information professionals to teach young people how to find, evaluate and interpret the huge amount of information available to them from many differing sources, whilst staying safe at the same time.

The evidence for a positive correlation between a good school library and student attainment is supported both nationally and internationally.

So what are the challenges of operating a school library service for 3-18 year olds in a digital world?
